Stony Brook University’s CORPORATE EDUCATION AND TRAINING (CET) in conjunction with HALLY ENTERPRISES INC., is pleased to offer courses in effective communications. Effective business communications play a vital role in every business operation. The manner by which an enterprise communicates creates an impression and should be realized by managers and employees alike for more effective relations with internal and external customers. These courses are conducted by Michael J. Reilly, President of Hally Enterprises, Inc. Mike is a former Reuters correspondent, editor, executive and head of external relations. Course Description:

 

Whether writing a business plan or simply e-mailing customers, a business can succeed or fail based on how well people communicate. Basic grammar and spelling from a university textbook support this skill-based program. This seminar gives you “do’s and don’ts” in writing e-mails, memos and reports. Not only are clarity and understanding emphasized, company reputation and legal exposure are covered in a course which will improve contact with peers, customers, employees and the public.

·         Improve the organization and structure of the written communication.

·         Write effective letters, memos and reports using prescribed stages and steps for effective business writing.

·         Apply basic rules of grammar.

·         Apply guidelines in using effective writing style.

·         Reduce time spent in writing communications.
